Summer in the Psalms
The hope of this series is three-fold:
The Psalms will not only speak to us (like all of Scripture), but speak for us. The Psalms minister to us in a mighty way because they give us language for every season of the soul. They can speak for us when we do not quite have the words to express our joy, lament, thanksgiving, weeping, praise, or trust.
The Psalms are prayers and so it is my hope that we will not just study them and sing them, but pray them as well. I want us to be a praying church and one way to grow in that area is to have the language of these prayers filling our heads and hearts.
The Psalms testify to Jesus and so I am excited to see Jesus in the Psalms and have our hearts burn together as we see him and savor him in the Psalms.
